Commit to changing your life at our medical detox centers.
Deaths from drug overdoses have more than tripled in the last three decades, and addiction has become a nationwide challenge. At our addiction treatment center in New York, we’re committed to changing that. Many people suffering from addiction and drug abuse have developed an intense physiological dependence on the substance. Once your body becomes dependent, suddenly quitting can trigger withdrawal symptoms. However, you can manage those symptoms with a safe and effective medical detox and begin your recovery in a comfortable environment at Fusion Recovery Center.
What to Expect at Medical Detox Centers
While detox does not treat addiction, it is an important first step in your treatment and recovery. In most cases, Fusion Recovery Center and other substance abuse treatment centers require detox before you can begin treatment. Substances requiring detox include alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, prescription drugs, stimulants, and synthetic drugs. It’s best to detox in an environment with medical staff, therapy, and supportive treatment. Once you complete a medical detox program, you can begin rehab and start your journey to recovery.
Without medical supervision, alcohol and drug detox can be very dangerous. The pain associated with detox is both physical and psychological and can lead to a quick relapse. Under the care of our fully licensed and trained clinicians, you will begin the detoxification process and be able to safely rid your body of substances. We monitor you and your symptoms and help prevent life-threatening withdrawal complications such as seizures, heart attacks, and death.
Our outpatient detox program will begin with a set of comprehensive evaluations, including a physical exam and screenings for alcohol addiction and substance use disorder, co-occurring disorders, and other underlying medical conditions. Medical detox typically lasts between three to 14 days. The length of detox is determined by several factors, such as the type of substance, the duration and frequency of use, the quantity of substance consumed over some time, and weight.
Successful recovery starts with detox.
