Admissions
Our Admissions Process at Fusion Recovery
Starting treatment shouldn’t feel like another obstacle. At Fusion Recovery Center, our admissions process is designed to be simple, confidential, and as low-stress as possible, because the decision to seek help is already the hardest part. Here’s exactly what to expect from your first call to your first day of treatment.
How Admissions Works at Our Albany, NY, Center
01.
Call Us or Fill Out the Form
Everything starts with a single conversation. Call our admissions team at 866.936.2290 or fill out the contact form and we’ll reach out to you. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you call, our admissions specialists are here to listen first and help you understand your options without pressure.
Your call is completely confidential and protected under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 — the federal confidentiality law specifically for substance use disorder treatment records. Nothing you share will be disclosed without your consent.
Available Monday–Friday 7:30am–7:00pm | Saturday 8:00am–1:00pm
02.
Pre-Admission Assessment
Once you’re on the phone, your admissions specialist will ask you some questions to better understand your situation. This isn’t an interrogation, it’s a conversation. We’ll ask about:
- Your history with substance use and any previous treatment
- Your current physical and mental health
- Family history and relevant background
- Any co-occurring mental health conditions
- Your current circumstances, support system, and daily life
This assessment helps our clinical team understand your needs clearly so we can recommend the level of care and treatment approach that actually fits your situation.
03.
Insurance Verification
We’ll verify your insurance coverage during or immediately after your initial call — quickly and without hassle. Fusion Recovery accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most major private insurance plans, and we’ll confirm exactly what your plan covers before you make any decisions.
If you have questions about cost, coverage, or financial options, this is the time to ask. We want you to have a complete, clear picture of what treatment will look like practically — not just clinically.
04.
Treatment Plan and Scheduling
Based on your assessment and insurance verification, your clinical team will develop a personalized treatment plan: the level of care, the services, the medications where applicable, and the schedule that fits your life. We’ll walk you through what that plan looks like and answer any remaining questions before your first appointment.
From there, we’ll schedule your intake at Fusion Recovery and confirm all the practical details, what to bring, where to go, what to expect on your first day.
05.
Your First Day
From your first appointment forward, your clinical team is with you every step of the way.
What to Know Before You Call
Your call is confidential.
Everything you share with our admissions team is protected by HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, stringent federal confidentiality protections that apply specifically to substance use disorder treatment. Your information will not be shared without your explicit consent.
You don't need to be ready to commit.
Many people call to understand their options before making any decision. That’s completely fine. Our admissions team is here to give you information and help you think through the decision, not to pressure you into starting before you’re ready.
Your insurance plan details.
Fusion Recovery accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. If you’re unsure about your coverage, we’ll check for you on the call.
You can ask any question.
No question is too basic, too sensitive, or too complicated. If you’re wondering about cost, what treatment looks like day-to-day, whether a family member can be involved, what happens if you’ve tried treatment before, or anything else, ask. We’d rather you have all the information than leave the call with unanswered concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions About Admissions
01. How do I start the admissions process at Fusion Recovery?
Call our admissions team at 866.936.2290 or fill out the contact form on our website. A member of our team will reach out promptly. You don’t need to have made any decisions before you call — the first conversation is simply about understanding your situation and your options.
03. What happens during the pre-admission assessment?
Your admissions specialist will ask about your history with substance use, current health, any previous treatment, family history, and current life circumstances. This conversation helps our clinical team understand your needs and recommend the right level of care and treatment approach for your situation.
05. How quickly can I start treatment?
In most cases, treatment can begin within a few days of your initial call — often sooner. Once your assessment is complete, your insurance is verified, and your treatment plan is developed, we’ll schedule your intake at the earliest available time that works for you.
07. Can a family member be involved in the admissions process?
Yes. Family involvement is welcome and encouraged where appropriate. If you’d like a family member or trusted person to be part of your initial call or intake appointment, our admissions team can accommodate that. Family involvement in the recovery process often strengthens outcomes.
09. What level of care will I receive?
Your level of care is determined through the pre-admission assessment and clinical evaluation — taking into account the substance, the severity of dependency, your mental health, your living situation, and your daily responsibilities. Options include medical detox support, IOP, standard outpatient, and residential reintegration. Your clinical team will explain the recommended level and why it fits your situation.
02. Is my call confidential?
Yes. All communications with Fusion Recovery’s admissions team are protected by HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 — federal confidentiality laws that provide strong privacy protections specifically for substance use disorder treatment. Nothing you share will be disclosed without your consent.
04. Does Fusion Recovery accept my insurance?
Fusion Recovery accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most major private insurance plans including CDPHP, Cigna, Fidelis, Health Net, Humana, Magellan, Oscar, United Health, Ambetter, Anthem, and Blue Cross. We verify your specific benefits during or after your first call so you know what’s covered before making any decisions.
06. What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your admissions team will confirm everything you need to bring before your intake appointment. Typically this includes a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of any current medications, and any relevant medical records if available. Your team will walk you through the specifics based on your treatment plan.
08. What if I've tried treatment before and it didn't work?
Previous treatment attempts — successful or not — are part of the picture your clinical team will want to understand. Many patients come to Fusion Recovery after prior treatment experiences, and your history with treatment helps us build a plan that’s different from what hasn’t worked before. Prior attempts are not a barrier to admission.
10. What if I'm not sure treatment is right for me?
You don’t need certainty to make the call. Many people who contact us are still figuring out whether treatment is the right step. Our admissions team is here to give you honest information and help you make an informed decision — without pressure. One conversation is all it takes to understand your options.
